Edible Architecture

Test out your architectural (and baking) skills in the Edible Architecture competition.

Simply create your own building from food, and bring it along to Galway City Museum on Sunday 1st October and you could be in with a chance of winning super prizes.  

Just turn up to the Museum between 12pm and 1pm with your Edible Architecture masterpiece – no pre-registration required.  Creations must be made from food - savoury or sweet, and should be no greater than 60cm x 60cm in area (no height limit).

All entries will be on display to the public from 1pm – 4pm and awards will be announced at 3pm.  There are three prize categories – Primary School, Secondary School and Adult.  Student prize winners will receive an android tablet, along with arts supplies vouchers for their school or after-school. The prize in the adult category is a €200 Joyces Supermarket voucher. All entrants will receive a certificate for taking part. 

Prizes are sponsored by Inspire Tile and Stone, Joyce Hardware, Joyces Supermarket and CraftyArts School Supplies. This project is supported by Galway County Council Community and Enterprise Section – Galway Region of Gastronomy.

Suitable for all ages and open to the public with no booking required.
