Nestled at the foothills of the Slieve Aughty Mountains, the Walled Garden at Woodville is nearly 2 acres in size and has been lovingly restored to its former glory. This romantic garden features herbaceous borders with interest all year round from spring bulbs to a riot of summer colour, espaliered fruit trees, a rose garden with fountain and vegetable sections. On arrival, guests are greeted by the resident white fantailed doves at in an original 18th century garden folly. The adjoining museum exhibits artifacts, photos and letters belonging to the Lady Gregory family.

The  historical walled garden was home to two prominent Galway families. The D'Arcys were the first family to reside at Woodville from the 1750s. Robert D'Arcy was the Land Agent for the 14th Earl of Clanricarde, Ulick John de Burgh for over 30 years, which included the famine period. Woodville still operates as a working farm to this day.
