'Placemaking' Talks

  • O’Donoghue Theatre NUIG (map)

This series of talks explore theory, policy and practise of Placemaking and creative best practices in urban design, the aim is to inform and inspire creative discourse. To start a dialogue between the citizen and the shape of their built environment.

What makes a great place to live? Who is responsible for creating the places in which we live, work and play? How can we make the most of our environment for a better quality of life? These are just some of the questions to be explored at the placemaking series of talks taking place as part of Architecture at the Edge Placemaking Symposium on Sept 29th at the O’Donoghue Centre & Theatre, NUI Galway.

The placemaking talks and workshops will explore creative ideas around architecture. We understand that our built environment impacts on our personal well-being, economic prosperity, and social cohesion. So how do we create that kind of environment? The aim of this series is to inform and inspire creative discourse, and to start a dialogue between citizens about their built environment.
