About the Open Call

For its 7th edition, The Architecture at the Edge Open Call is looking for visionary ideas and examples on Re-Mapping: What are the practical, architectural, and social features of the  lived environment in need of representation?

“Re-Mapping ” captures the invisible networks and connections between the places that are meaningful to us.

We invite you to make a map of your own devising which will appeal to anyone interested in how we visualize our worlds, physical or abstract, real or imagined.

We are searching for new perspectives from those interested in social geography, social policy, social justice and social change.

Selected submissions will be exhibited during the Architecture at the Edge Festival, 29 September - 08 October 2023, when everyone comes together to celebrate our built environment, its places and people.

The maximum allowance available of €2,000 includes the fee for your time, production costs, and contributing to the marketing and evaluation of the festival.

To reach the broadest possible audience, the piece should be accessible and created to provoke dialogue around the theme.

Deadline: 07 July 2023.

We'll select 3 projects and invite them to present at our Festival in Galway in October.

AATE recognises the positive value of a diverse production team reflective of our shared built environment. We welcome and encourage applications from people of all genders, backgrounds and abilities. Applicants need not have gone to university or be professionally qualified.
